The Faculty’s organisational structure adopts a typical department system, which is often implemented in other research universities across the US and the UK. There is no hierarchical distinction between the institution’s professors. Professors, associate professors, postdoctoral researchers and senior researchers conduct courses which are coordinated in course-groups according to the accredited curricula.
Research at the Faculty is conducted in the Ányos Jedlik Research and Development Laboratories, or the “Jedlik Laboratories". PhD students engage in thorough research during their four-year doctoral studies, excluding their weekly two-week classes. They are also expected to teach via recitation of one course in the first two years of their studies. PhD students are supported by both their supervisors and their research contract. Research conducted within the Faculty is coordinated by the Vice-Dean of Research and Development, who also supervises the infrastructure of Jedlik Laboratories.
